My Bio
I was born in South Africa, when Apartheid was still a thing. For eight years I was an only child and amusing myself often meant living with my nose stuck in a book. It wasn’t long before I went from reading stories to writing them. I loved fairy tales and folk tales and often wondered if there really were sprites living in the mountains not far from where we lived. English was my favourite subject in school and I remember reciting Shakespeare and Browning for a school contest with a friend of mine, because why not. It was high school and I was a nerd.
After starting my family, I moved to New Zealand where I followed my dream and realised by joining a Romance Writers Group, I could learn so much more about writing. The day I became a finalist in my first contest was the day I began to realise my dream was becoming real. And as time went on, I believed in the impossible. And in 2013 I was published by a small publishing house.
Life never always works out the way you planned. Due to personal reasons I stepped back from writing. In that time I moved to Australia and worked in the Outback. I did some pretty awesome things like drive from one end of Queensland to the other. Alone. And after my adventures I took my two camp dogs and settled down to work on my writing again. It’s been an enlightening adventure but I’m a great believer in following my dreams. I think this journey has given me so many life lessons that has made me the person I am but more than anything it’s helped me write stronger heroines. Hopefully you get to read about these strong woman and the men who get to believe in them.
